Summer is a great
time to visit the West Virginia Mountain
Highlands.
Spring and early summer
rains transform the forests and mountains into a lush,
green wonderland of outdoor recreation options. This is a
great time to walk and hike the national forest, or play
on the rocks of Seneca. And the fishing couldn't be
better!
Our state parks have
prepared a full agenda for the entire family with
activities and nature programs for the youngsters; and
the golf courses primed for the athletic young at
heart.
On the attraction front,
the heritage trains stationed a Cass, Durbin and Romney
are boarding daily and/or on weekends; and adventure
awaits around every curve! Underground explorations are
popular at Smoke Hole and Seneca caverns. Our resorts
offer a full range outdoor adventure packages.
Summer is the time for fairs and festivals. Visit each of our counties' sites for their updated schedule of events.
